Dance Active Wellness is exploring partnerships with colleges and universities to provide students with hands-on experience in creative movement, healthy aging, and community- based wellness programming.
Students interested in movement, dance, kinesiology, exercise science, gerontology, health sciences, recreation, and related fields may have opportunities to gain practical experience with DAW through supervised internships and teaching experiences.Ā
Potential Opportunities may include:
- Observing and assisting DAW classes
- Participating in DAW training and mentorship
- Supporting programs for older adults and adult day participantsĀ
- Developing skills in adaptive and seated movement
- Teaching selected DAW sessions under appropriate supervisionĀ
- Receiving paid teaching opportunities when qualified
- Exploring a pathway toward DAW Instructor CertificationĀ
Internship and academic credit opportunities are subject to individual college and program requirements. Participation in an internship does not guarantee certification or employment with Dance Active Wellness.
